The short version. No hold, no look. We don't store your screenshots, voice or questions. We never sell your data.
When Mango looks
Only while you hold Ctrl + Alt, or after you type a question. At that moment Mango takes a screenshot of your screen, reads the names of the buttons in the app in front of you, and listens to what you say. Nothing is captured while you are not asking, and there is no background recording.
Where it goes
To answer you, your question and what Mango captured are sent through Ask Mango's server to the services below. No keys live on your computer, and our server does not save your screenshots, your voice or your questions.
| Service | What it does for Mango |
|---|---|
| OpenAI | Mango's voice: hears your question and speaks the answer. Also runs Orchard jobs. |
| Anthropic | Reads your question and the screenshot, and writes the answer and the drawings. |
| Deepgram | Turns your speech into text for dictation. |
| Composio | Only if you connect apps such as Gmail or Google Calendar: carries out what you ask in them. |
| Spotify | Only when you ask for music: looks up the song. Your Spotify account is not used. |
These providers process your data only to answer you and, under their API terms, do not use it to train their models.
Orchard jobs
When you hand Mango a long job, the Orchard works on your own computer, in a folder for that job. What it reads, searches and writes is sent to OpenAI to do the work. The files it makes stay on your computer. A list of your past jobs is kept on your computer so you can open them again.
What we keep
- Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.
- How many messages you used this month, to apply your plan.
- Which computers are signed in: each computer's name and when it was last used.
- If you subscribe: your plan and subscription status. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by Razorpay; we never see them.
- If you connect apps: which apps are connected. The connection itself is held by Composio.
On your computer, Ask Mango keeps its settings, a short history of recent questions so follow-ups make sense, your Orchard jobs, and a log file for troubleshooting. Uninstalling Ask Mango removes them.
Writing for you
When Mango writes for you, it types the text where your cursor is, using your clipboard for a moment and then putting back what was there. It never presses Send.
Payments
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive your subscription status and a payment reference, never your card or bank details. See Razorpay's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
Website analytics
This website uses PostHog to understand how people use it: which pages they visit, what they click, and recordings of visits that help us fix confusing pages. Anything typed into a form is hidden from these recordings. If you are signed in, visits are linked to your email. This covers the website only, not what you ask Mango in the app.
On your first visit we keep a small cookie of our own (for 90 days) with where you came from: the site that linked here, or the campaign tags of an ad. If you then make an account, we store that with it, so we know which places bring people who use Ask Mango. It is never shared.
The website also uses the Meta Pixel, so we can tell whether our ads on Instagram and Facebook work. It tells Meta that you visited, clicked a download button, asked for the download link, connected the app, or started or completed a purchase (with the plan and price). When you ask for the download link, connect the app or complete a purchase, our server also sends Meta your email address in hashed form (scrambled so it cannot be read back) and your browser's Meta cookies, so Meta can match them to the ad you saw. It never sends anything you type into Mango or anything from your screen. Meta may link this to your Meta account under its own privacy policy, and you can manage this in your Meta ad settings.
Usage data and crash reports in the app
The app tells us which features you use and how well they work: that you asked a question by voice or by typing, which app was in front, how long the answer took, whether Mango pointed, drew or clicked, and the steps of the welcome tour. It never sends what you said, typed or wrote, or anything from your screen. This goes to PostHog, linked to your account email.
When something breaks, the app sends a short error report to Sentry with your email and the app version, so we can fix it and, if needed, ask you for your logs folder. The logs stay on your computer unless you send them to us.
You can turn both off in Settings, under General: "Share usage data and crash reports".
Your choices
You can sign out of any computer, disconnect apps, or delete your account and everything we keep about you from your account page. Deleting your account cancels any subscription. For anything else, write to support@askmango.app and we will reply within two working days.
Children
Ask Mango is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will email you before the change takes effect.
