Lots of AI can see your screen.
Few will point.
Ask Mango, HeyClicky, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot Vision and the newer cursor buddies, side by side: which ones point at the button, which ones draw, which ones run jobs in the background, and what each one costs.
Checked on each app's own website, 24 October 2026
We make Ask Mango, so we are not neutral. We have tried to be fair: everything said about another app comes from its own website or its maker's announcements, and where a site doesn't say, the table says so instead of guessing.

Cursor buddies
Live next to your cursor, answer out loud and point at the button you need, in any app. Ask Mango, HeyClicky, Pointy and Buddy.
Chatbots that can look
ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot can now see a window you share. They are great at answers, but they mostly tell you where to click instead of showing you.
Specialists
TryUncle teaches software through lessons, VoiceOS is dictation and voice commands, and Cluely and Highlight help in meetings.

HeyClicky
Cursor buddy · Mac, Windows
The closest app to Mango. It lives by your cursor, answers out loud, draws on your screen to point the way and runs agent tasks. Its Free, Pro and Max plans have the same message allowances as Mango's, priced in US dollars.
Pick it if you want its ready-made Gmail, Calendar and Notion connections, or its student discount.
Ask Mango vs HeyClicky → -
ChatGPT
Chatbot that can look · Mac, Windows
The best-known AI, with voice in its desktop apps since July 2026. On a Mac it can look at the front window you share. It tells you where things are, but it doesn't point at them or draw on your screen.
Pick it if you already pay for ChatGPT and mostly want long conversations, writing and coding help.
Ask Mango vs ChatGPT → -
Gemini for Mac
Chatbot that can look · Mac
Hold Fn to talk to Gemini from any app, and turn on a mode that lets it read your screen. It is free with limits, and Google AI Pro is $19.99 a month.
Pick it if you live in Google's apps and want a free voice shortcut on a Mac.
Ask Mango vs Gemini → -
Copilot Vision
Chatbot that can look · Windows
Part of Copilot on Windows: share an app, say "show me how", and Highlights shows where to click inside it. It launched in the US first.
Pick it if you are on Windows where it is offered and want something already on your PC.
Ask Mango vs Copilot Vision → -
Buddy
Cursor buddy · Mac
Push to talk on Ctrl + Option, a spoken reply and an answer window, with a cursor companion in beta. $9.99 a month hosted, capped at 750 asks, or $29.99 once with your own OpenAI key. Windows is a waitlist.
Pick it if you have your own OpenAI key and prefer paying once.
-
Pointy
Cursor buddy · Mac, Windows
A new menu-bar companion that flies across your screen to the button it means. It is free on Mac; its paid plans and app connections aren't listed yet.
Pick it if pointing is all you need and you want to try something free.
-
AIPointer
Open source · Mac, Windows, Linux
Free and source-available. You bring an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or OpenRouter and pay them yourself. It answers about what's under your cursor rather than pointing at buttons.
Pick it if you are technical and want to choose your own model.
-
TryUncle
Tutor · Mac, Windows
A $29-a-month membership. Its tutor, Uncle, watches your screen while you learn and points at the next control, with ready-made DaVinci Resolve lessons on the Mac.
Pick it if you want a structured course rather than quick answers in any app.
-
VoiceOS
Dictation and voice commands · Mac, Windows
Clean dictation plus voice actions across apps: send an email, reply in Slack, schedule a meeting. $11.99 a month billed yearly, after a 7-day trial.
Pick it if you mostly want to type by voice and act across apps.
-
Cluely and Highlight
Meeting helpers
Built for calls and meetings: live notes, suggested answers and transcripts you can search later. A different job from showing you around an app.
Pick them if your problem is meetings, not software.
It shows, then waits
Mango circles the button, waits while you click, then shows the next step. It never clicks for you, so you learn the app.
It draws to explain
Graphs, diagrams and the path of a thrown ball, sketched right over your screen and labelled while it talks.
Priced for India too
Pay in rupees by UPI, card or net banking.
Questions
Choosing one.
What is the closest alternative to HeyClicky?
Ask Mango. Both live by your cursor, answer out loud, point at buttons and run long jobs in the background, on Mac and Windows, with the same free allowance of 25 talk and 25 agent messages a month. Mango also sketches diagrams to explain things, plays music on Spotify and takes rupees by UPI.
Can ChatGPT point at things on my screen?
Not as of October 2026. ChatGPT's desktop voice can look at a window you share on a Mac and tell you where things are, but it doesn't point at the button or draw on your screen.
Is there a free AI that points at my screen?
Yes. Ask Mango and HeyClicky both have free plans with 25 talk and 25 agent messages a month, Pointy is free on Mac, and AIPointer is free if you bring your own API key.
Which ones work on Windows?
Ask Mango, HeyClicky, Pointy, AIPointer, ChatGPT and Copilot Vision. Buddy's Windows version is still a waitlist.
Do these apps watch my screen all the time?
The cursor buddies don't. Mango only looks while you hold Ctrl + Alt (Control + Option on a Mac), and HeyClicky says it only sees your screen when you press its hotkey. Meeting tools like Highlight work differently: they keep context across your day.
